Bow Valley Save-A-Watt Campaign

Save Money, Energy and the Environment

The Save-A-Watt Program has concluded.  Thank you very much to all participants and supporters.  The PowerCost monitors are still available for loan from the Biosphere Institute.  Please contact us if you are interested in borrowing a unit.  If you are considering retrofits or new building construction you may qualify for a ecoENERGY
grant or incentive.

This energy savings campaign will help local residents learn how to save money and energy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by reducing home electricity use.  The Biosphere Institute will provide real time displays of your home's electricity use (PowerCost monitors) to borrow on a three week basis.

GOALS

  • To encourage Bow Valley residents to take action to reduce home electricity use.
  • To engage local residents in home electricity monitoring using real time displays (PowerCost monitors) that give feedback on current and total electricity consumption, cost, and estimated GHG emissions from power generation.
