With Special Guest Speakers: Dr. David Suzuki & Dr. Karl-Henrik Robért talking about the sustainability challenge and solutions using The Natural Step framework.  Over lunch Dr. Ted Manning will be speaking about the “business of sustainable tourism” focusing on the planning and management of tourism for the mutual benefit of tourists, the tourism industry, communities and tourism destinations like Canmore. The day will also feature experiences from Canmore's "Early Adopters" of The Natural Step program, an Energy Fair featuring "green" products and services available to local businesses and residents, and much more.

A Bow Valley Energy Fair featuring products, technologies, and initiatives by Bow Valley businesses, industries, and organizations that involve saving energy, saving money, and saving the planet!

The exhibitions will also include poster presentations by the Canmore Early Adopters detailing their Natural Step Vision and Action Plans, the Canmore Action Plan to Sustainability, and demonstrations of the Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company Education Society’s Junkfuel program.

There will be a number of special features throughout the day, including:

  • 3:00 pm Riverdale Homes tour of an energy efficient Built Green Gold Home
  • 4:30 pm Canmore Civic Centre tour of a LEEDS Silver certified building
  • 7:00 pm Presentation by Stephen Farrell of VerdaTech (an EnerGuide certified company) on saving energy and dollars at home.
  • Tours of a Radisson hotel room highlighting eco-efficient technologies and initiatives
  • Demonstrations of hybrid vehicles
