of thousands of small businesses and direct livelihoods of over 1 million Canadians and $101.6 billion in economic contribution annually
● How to be an imperfect advocate, and the importance of having your voice heard
with elected officials - it’s not as scary as it seems!
About the Presenters…
Dr. Marc Pons, is a research scientist with the University of Saskatchewan. His work in
glaciology and snowpack monitoring in the mountains has shown him both the vulnerability
and opportunities as ice melts and winter changes. He’s helped co-create innovative
adaptation plans as the winter ski/sports industry looks forward to its future sustainability, and is based in Canmore.
Stephanie Korolyk is the Community Advocacy Manager for Protect Our Winters Canada,
an environmental organization uniting outdoor people for clean air, clean water and deep
pow for all. Steph believes everyone can be a force for positive change, and centers her work out of a homebase in the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island.
